Man flown to Brisbane with burns after Widgee oven fire

A man in his 50s was flown to Brisbane with burns to his face after a fire in a Widgee home. Here is what we know:

A man has been flown to Brisbane on Saturday morning with burns to his face after an oven reportedly caught fire in a Widgee home.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 8.04am on Saturday morning, where a man in his 50s suffered superficial burns to his face and arms.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said superficial burns were not considered serious, but concerns were raised about the man’s airways as his face was burned.

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
