A man in his 30s was airlifted from Glastonbury on the Labour Day holiday after falling 5m down a cliff.
The man was rock climbing with friends near Point Pure Road at Glastonbury, about 20km west of Gympie, when he fell and sustained chest and back injuries in the early afternoon.
The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew winched him off the cliff about 3pm and flew him to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were first to arrive and aid the man, but could not rescue him due to the cliff’s terrain.
A QAS flight paramedic was lowered to the scene from the rescue chopper.
