GYMPIE reality TV star Adam Cross says he has "zero regrets” about his time on prime time show Australian Spartan.

The father of two, along with former Gympie Gymnasts Andrew Badger and Jess Post, made it through to the semi-finals last week but were eliminated after a small mistake from Cross saw them bow out.

While "gutted” about not continuing on in the competition, he said the experience was "awesome.”

"It was like nothing I have ever done before,” Cross said.

"The experience its self was unreal.”

Cross said he expected to make the semi-finals, but he expressed disappointment on how it ended.

On one of the final obstacles before the finish, Cross mistimed a jump across water.

He fell just centimetres short of the landing platform, but it was enough to leave the team, Two Badgers One Anchor, out of grand final contention.

Going into the series as one of the favourites to take the major prize, host Wendell Sailor was visibly shocked when Cross' team failed to qualify.

"I can't believe just what happened,” Sailor said.

Cross echoed Sailor's dismay.

"There was so much in my head, my expression when we finished said it all,” Cross said.

"I sent out the vibe that I wasn't happy.”

"I think he (Sailor) was nervous to ask me (what had happened) but he had to.

"I knew it wasn't the most difficult obstacle and if I had to go back and do it a thousand times I could do it every time.

"As soon as I went I think my heart sunk and hit the water before I did.

Cross said his team-mates took the mishap well.

"Having competed so much together before, they knew how I would have felt,” Cross said.

"We were in it together.”
