One of the last empty blocks of land in Gympie’s CBD could soon be home to new commercial offices under a proposal lodged with Gympie Regional Council’s planning department.

Developer Nashville Properties has unveiled plans to build the office on the 454m sq block Nash St west of the road’s intersection with Palatine St.

The application says the land has been “vacant for many decades and possibly since the first settlement of Gympie in 1867”.

The empty block does have a driveway, stairs and retaining wall exist from a previous development.
