Victory Heights has been unveiled as a key part to a growing housing boom across Gympie and one developer is keen to be a party of it.
Sydney-based Hillscorp Truground lodged has lodged plans to slice a 5.1ha block at Fauna Rd into more than five dozen blocks ranging from 500sq m to 827sq m in size.
The average size will be 525sq m.
If approved, the subdivision will be opened up in two stages.
Forty-three lots will be opened up in the first stage.
Hillscorp bought the land, located about 2km northeast of the CBD, for $1.1 million in April.
The plans include the ability to connect Fauna Rd with David St in the future.
Innovative Planning Solutions, which lodged Hillscorp’s plans with the council, said the area has “no mapped wetlands, koala habitat or other essential habitat” and would have “minimal” impact on the area’s ecological value.
The proposal adds to a growing list of subdivision developments proposed for the region.
From January to August this year 59 subdivision applications had been made to the council, proposing 257 new blocks be opened up for the market.
This is more than what had been lodged for each entire year in 2019 and 2020.
As of the end of August, 39 of those applications had been given the green light, totalling 180 new blocks.
The largest subdivision development approved by the council so far this year was a 29-lot subdivision at Diggings Rd in Imbil, to be opened up in three stages.
