INCUMBENT Division 2 councillor Rae Gate was born, raised and educated in Gympie.
"My parents are Allan and Kay (deceased) Gâté. I have lived in Old Veteran Rd, Division 2 for 26 years.
"I have been (and still am) involved in a number of community groups over the years as a volunteer.
"I have an understanding of the issues and concerns here in the region.
"Currently I am the treasurer for Community Action Inc, treasurer for Gympie Community Place and secretary for Bendigo Community Bank Gympie.
"I worked in the electricity industry for 20 years in Sydney, Cooroy, Noosaville and Gympie.
"Prior to being elected to council I was the secretary/manager for the Gympie District Show Society, utilising my skills in events management, marketing, public relations and working with large numbers of volunteers.
"I have worked as a full-time councillor throughout this term and I thank the people of Division 2 for giving me this opportunity to represent them."
