The annual Gympie Winter Race Day is expected to draw a big crowd to the Gympie Turf Club this Saturday, July 17, with perfect weather predicted and the return of the Champions Bar drawing punters in.
Gympie Turf Club president Shane Gill said he was expecting a big crowd, with marquees for the day almost booked out.
He also said ticket sales for the Champions Bar, which has returned for Saturday’s race days, were doing well.
“It’s shaping up to be another great day,” Mr Gill said.
A Champions Bar ticket gives race goers an elevated race day experience, with general entry, a drink on arrival, an all day grazing package and exclusive entry into the Apex Restaurant included in the price.
The Winter Race Day features a six race program with racing starting at 1pm, as well as a bar and dining with a TAB.
Mr Gill said there would also be an after-party from 4.30pm, with local band Code 3 Eleven performing live.
The weather is predicted to be warm and sunny on Saturday, which he also said would be ideal.
“It’s perfect weather to be out and enjoying a day at the races,” he said.
Tickets for the race day can be purchased online on the Gympie Turf Club website here, and at the gate this Saturday.
Gates to the race track open at 11am.
