Hair salon a real beauty as voted by you

THE GYMPIE times Facebook voters declare Hair Review head and shoulders above the rest.

THERE are some things we will hunt for for a lifetime, until we find the right one.

Mechanics, coffee shops, pizza houses and hairdressers are some on the list of special requirements.

And when it comes to the latter, it seems The Gympie Times Facebook users say Hair Review on Mary St is the place to go.

This week the hair salon won The Gympie Times online Facebook vote for the best hairdresser in town.

They took the crown by quite a margin and manager Jamie Jack says the secret to their success is "good old-fashioned service with precision style".

Since opening its doors at Goldfields Plaza in 1992, and later expanding to larger premises on Mary St, the salon has gone from strength to strength.

One of the biggest salons in town, Hair Review now employs 22 staff to cater for the growing client base.

Owners Carolann and Steven Verity offered their biggest thanks to the clients who gave them the nod in the online vote.

"We are overwhelmed by the local support we received in The Gympie Times Facebook competition," they said.

"With a strong team of 22 we endeavour to achieve the highest level of hairdressing in a fun, friendly and professional environment."

But Gympie is rich when it comes to quality hairdressing services, and anyone who sits in a salon chair knows it's the service that really counts.

Among the highly-recommended was Mode Southside, which received plenty of props for its warm service as well as Golden Apple at Imbil, which was regarded as a quality salon with its heart embedded deep in the community.

Aspire Hair Design, Roma Hair Salon, Your Serenity Hair and Beauty and La Mode Hair and Beauty also received special mentions.
