Gympie’s newest pool business

A new pool business is in Gympie is the latest passion

Pools might sound like a far cry away from careers in real estate agent and a pharmaceuticals, but for the owners of Gympie’s newest pool shop it is a perfect fit.

Michelle and Conrad Reed have been part of the Poolwerx franchise for 16 years and own another store in Cooroy, taking over from the longtime PoolScene which called the block home.

While pools were their business now, it was not always the case.

Before Poolwerx Mr Reed was a real estate agent and Mrs Reed was a qualified pharmaceutical chemist.

They took over the business from the former PoolScene owners, Ross and Melissa Morley, who ran it for more than 30 years.

Mr Morley’s parents had initially bought the store and handed it down.

When they decided they were ready to give up the sho they called Mr and Mrs Reed and offered the location.

“We want to make sure we continue that, we’re a small family business too even though it’s part of a national business,” Mr Reed said. said.

Mr and Mrs Reed bought the shop on December 10 and are keen to impress the Gympie community.

Having four kids who all practice martial arts, two with black belts, there’s never a dull moment in their life; Mr Reed joined in too to get more involved with the kids.
