We asked Gympie who the cutest baby in town was, and the community has well-and-truly spoken.
Seven month old Alijah Grant has been crowned the cutest baby in the region in a landslide victory, receiving a whopping 13% of votes from 73 entries.
Second spot was Hudson who received 7% of votes, and third place tied on 6% were Isabella and Huddson John Stewart.
Parents Leah Quinlan and Blake Grant couldn’t be happier about the win.
“I’m in shock, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I even cried a bit, I’m actually shaking now!” Leah said.
Leah said she was “blown away”, “shocked”, and “so happy” that little Alijah was even nominated - let alone had won.
Alijah, who is affectionately called their ‘little gremlin’, was born on March 19, 2024, and is lovingly described as a “really good boy with lots of personality” who loves meeting new people, but can be a little “crazy”.
His favourite things to do is use his jolly-jumper, go on walks, and eat lots of food - with his favourite being mangoes.
“He really doesn’t sleep during the day and he sleeps all through the night,” Leah said.
“He loves to play with his toys, go outside - especially down at the creek.
“He runs around the house making car noises and and has started to say ‘blah, blah, blah’ when people are talking.
“He’s actually started to sit up and is learning to wave at people now.”
Leah said Alijah’s favourite toy would be his stuffed donkey which dangles above his head in the car, and he loves watching ‘The Big Bang Theory” when the family were winding down in the evening.
Leah said she was most looking forward to introducing Alijah to motorbikes when he got older, as it was a fond memory she had growing up herself.
“We did that a lot with our father - he passed when I was 10 years old,” she said.
“I want to take Alijah exploring and travelling, keeping him outside as much as possible.
“I try to avoid giving him too much technology.
“We live out in Imbil so it’s a pretty good place to learn and explore.”
Leah would like to thank the region for all their votes as she felt totally “blown away” from all the love and support she’d received for little Alijah.
