Gympie region man charged with public indecency, driving unlicensed remanded in custody

A 37-year-old East Deep Creek man was denied bail in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday for three charges, including two indecent act charges.
Chey Callum Matthews was charged with two offences of public indecency and one charge of driving unlicensed, but entered no plea when he appeared in custody.
Duty lawyer Chris Anderson said Mr Matthews requested to be released on bail, but Magistrate Chris Callaghan said a bail application made earlier that morning had been denied to prevent further offending.
Details of the charges facing Mr Matthews were not mentioned in court.
Mr Matthews was remanded in custody and will reappear in Gympie Magistrates Court via video link on August 9.
