New details surrounding the death of a 59-year-old man at the 2022 Gympie Music Muster emerged on Friday.
Emergency crews, including critical and advanced care paramedics, were called to a section of the extensive campgrounds about 9.15pm on Wednesday after the man reportedly had a heart attack.
It is reported paramedics performed CPR on the man for more than an hour, but he passed away at the scene.
The man, who reportedly had a known heart condition and was feeling unwell when he travelled to the Muster, was accompanied by his wife throughout the ordeal, a spokeswoman said.
The RACQ Careflight helicopter was called to airlift the man out, but he died before he could be taken to hospital.
Thousands of people were already at the Muster on Wednesday, while thousands more poured through the gate ahead of the official start of the festival on Thursday evening.
A Muster spokesperson said staff were in contact with the 59-year-old man’s family and extended their sincere condolences to loved ones.
