A man who committed 83 crimes while on parole faced Gympie Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The charges included breach of domestic violence and providing false information to authorities.
The court heard once the man was released on parole he immediately contacted his former girlfriend, who had a protection order against him, and was spotted by police a few days later walking with her down the street.
Police prosecutor Melissa Campbell said the man had a “I do want I want attitude” and was thumbing his nose at authorities.
The man has been in custody for just over a year and had previously been charged with dangerous operations, stealing, possessing drugs, evasion of police, possession of ammunition and breach of domestic violence orders.
Magistrate Chris Callaghan told the court that his actions were “prolific and stupid”.
He was sentenced to three months and six days in jail. The man cannot be named for legal reasons.
