Gympie jewellery store Mia Bella will be closing its doors after a successful 12 years in business as owners David and Clarissa Bell prepare to embrace a well deserved rest.
Mr Bell, having 45 years experience as a jewellery manufacturer under his belt, has worked for a range of bespoke jewellers throughout his career.
His partner Clarissa could see the potential of opening their own store, which became a reality when Mia Bella opened its doors in 2012.
Their aim was to bring something “new and exciting” to Gympie with a strong focus on their custom designs and repairing damaged pieces.
After navigating the demands of running their own business, they are ready to retire and embrace the next chapter of their life.
“We have absolutely loved it. It’s our baby, and we are really gonna miss it – but it’s time.”
“It’s time for us to move forward and go into a new challenge of our life. We would rather call it now than keep going and going. You’ve got to know when it’s time.”

The duo’s future promises plenty of days on the golf course and plans to travel the world.
They said this week they did not yet have any formal plans, and had decided to play their next phase “by ear”.
The doors of Mia Bella will officially close on December 24, 2024 and their “everything must go” is well underway, with 60 per cent off on many of their pieces.
