Medical services at Cooloola Cove are about to get a shot in the arm, with plans lodged with Gympie Regional Council to build a medical centre in the booming coastal town.
Cooloola Cove made headlines last week when the sale of a four-bedroom home set a new record price of $680,000 for the township, where Tin Can Bay Century 21 sales and marketing consultant Paul Downman said homes, units and vacant land lasting no longer than two weeks on the market before being snapped up.
Landowner Andrew Spall and planning company Plansmart are seeking approval to build the centre on an 1134sq m block on the southern side of Nautilus Drive, opposite the shopping centre.
A small shed on the site will be removed if the development application is given the green light.
The 188sq m, single-storey centre will include four consultation rooms, a waiting room, a treatment centre, an office and a two-bedroom caretaker’s unit.
Nine parking spaces will also be provided.
