Gympie Child Safety Service Centre evacuated

A Queensland Government building in Gympie was evacuated on Friday morning.

A government building in Duke Street was evacuated on Friday morning when an air conditioner started emitting a burning smell.

Emergency services rushed to Queensland Government Child Safety Service Centre on Duke St after receiving the call at 9.51am.

The call reported a burning electrical smell, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said.

Two fire crews arrived and entered the building while an ambulance remained on standby.

Four people stood outside the building as the fire crews investigated inside the building.
