Guide to the Gympie Music Muster 2022
Less than two weeks out from the 2022 Gympie Music Muster hundreds of campers are already on site at Amamoor State Forest, thousands more are packing their tents and akubras, and some of Australia’s biggest country music artists and making ready their travel plans. Here’s what you need to know.
Gympie
Don't miss out on the headlines from Gympie. Followed categories will be added to My News.
More than 100 performers and thousands of excited Muster-goers are readying their travel plans to head to the 2022 Gympie Music Muster in less than two weeks – if they are not already there.
The first official performance will start at midday on Thursday, August 25 and festivities will continue until late into the night on Sunday, August 28. The Muster showcases a mix of country, roots, blues, folk and rock music as well as workshops, dancing, bush poets, kid’s club and more.
What started as a community fundraiser at Widgee in 1982 has now grown to a four-day festival attracting musicians from across Australia and internationally.
After a three-year hiatus, the 2022 Muster will be undoubtedly unforgettable and will be celebrating its belated 40th anniversary.
Top headline acts 2022
LEE KERNAGHAN – 8.45pm to 10pm on Saturday, Hill Stage
Lee Kernaghan is a Gympie Muster favourite and an outback icon for Australians living and working on the land. He revolutionised traditional country themes with his own style of rural rock and regional culture in the 1990s.
His hit songs include The Outback Club, Boys From The Bush, Hat Town, She’s My Ute and Australian Boy.
KASEY CHAMBERS – 6.45pm to 8pm on Sunday, Hill Stage
Being the youngest woman to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2018, Kasey Chambers has become one of the most popular and acclaimed artists of her generation with her genre-defying singing and songwriting.
She has a selection from 12 award-winning albums since the release of the popular song The Captain to share in her special festival performance at the Muster.
JOHN WILLIAMSON – 5pm to 6.15pm on Sunday, Hill Stage
2022 marks John Williamson’s 52nd year in the industry. His music is inspired by his great treks across Australia.
With his first song ‘Old Man Emu’ landing himself a place on top single charts and a record deal, John Williamson has 52 albums (including 20 original studio albums) under his belt.
Not to mention his successes in the ARIA Hall of Fame, Roll of Renown induction, an Order of Australia and 28 Golden Guitar Awards.
GRAEME CONNORS
With 20 albums and more than 40 years of live performances behind him, Graeme Connors is sure to honour his place in the Australian Country Music Roll of Renown with a stunning performance at the Muster.
TROY CASSAR-DALY
Troy Cassar-Daley has thirty years of experience in the music industry, along with 10 released studio albums. His career stems from his passion for the tales of this land, coming from a long line of storytellers.
