EASTER will again be one of Fraser Island's busiest times with accommodation places reporting positive holiday bookings.
While not likely to reach capacity, Kingfisher Bay Resort and Eurong Beach Resort are reporting strong interest from tourists.
The island is not expected to be as busy over Easter as last year, with Queensland and New South Wales holidaying at different times.
Queenslanders will be on holidays from March 24 to April 11 while NSW will get a break from April 9 to 26.
Kingfisher Bay Resort group general manager David Hay said bookings for the Easter weekend and the school holidays were very positive.
"We've seen a pick up over the past few weeks as people realise the Easter break falls a bit earlier than usual this year," he said.
While most of the people on Fraser Island will be enjoying the sand, sun and chocolate, Queensland Parks and Wildlife rangers will be doing more serious business.
"Rangers are busy readying the island for the Easter influx," a QPWS spokeswoman said.
Easter coincides with dingo mating season which runs from March to May.
Rangers will be increasing patrols and warning visitors.
