Just 10 days ago a Curra family was in the same circumstances when their home of 30 years was razed, while a fire at Monkland ended in the most heart-wrenching and tragic of circumstances when 12-year-old Alexis Dean was caught in the blaze and died days later from her injuries.

In June a Mothar Mountain home was also destroyed by fire, leaving an extended family homeless and sleeping in tents on their property.

Gympie fire station officer Cameron Nicol said while it was unusual to have four in such a short time, none of the incidents were related or suspicious.

He said it was a timely reminder to keep smoke alarms fitted and up-to-date, to be cautious with electrical appliances and candles and to ensure access to water sources on properties.
