THERE were black prancing stallions and horsepower a plenty at Gympie Roadcraft yesterday as more than 50 Ferraris took part in some driver skills training as part of the Ferrari Club Australia's annual meet.
The deep throaty roars of Italian V8 and V12 engines echoed over the approximately $35million worth of sports cars present.
Newly appointed Australian Ferrari Club president Winston Kim said Roadcraft was the third stop on their annual club meet.
The club had a concourse in Toowoomba on Monday and spent Tuesday testing the speed of the cars at Willowbank raceway.
“Today is more low speed and technical. The cars won't get out of first gear,” Mr Kim said.
But that didn't stop the drivers having fun as they got the cars sideways around the tight course.
Sydney mechanic Miles Sandy (pictured left) brought his $1.5 million GTO twin turbo along. It is one of only two in Australia and is a collector's item.
Mr Sandy, a rally driver, said it was great to be able to get the cars out and see what they can do.
