A young Bargara man who was tragically killed when a truck hit him north of Gympie has been remembered as a “hard working, caring” brother who was inseparable from his dog.
Miguel Angel Vitale D’Amico was killed while walking north along the Bruce Hwy at Glenwood about 10.30pm Friday.
Police are calling for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Mr Vitale D’Amico’s sister Jacinta said the family believed Mr Vitale D’Amico had been involved in a single vehicle crash earlier in the night, and may have been on the road looking for his dog “Ragnar”.
They were “inseparable”, she said.
“You couldn’t get him away from his dog,” she said.
“He’d take it to work, he would take it in the car.”
Mr Vitale D’Amico’s dog was reportedly found by nearby residents and has been returned to his family.
They are still seeking answers, with Rolinia calling out on her Facebook page for anyone who saw anything to please contact police.
“This was my little brother and we just want some closure,” she said in the post.
Mr Vitale D’Amico was the only son of seven siblings, and the third oldest.
He had started his own concreting business last year after working as a qualified stone bench installer, Jacinta said.
As Miguel and her were “the athletic ones in the family” they had a healthy competitive streak when it came to sports, whether it was track and field or team sports.
“We were best friends when we were younger,” Jacinta said.
Rolinia Tremayne said her brother was a “hardworking, caring, funny young guy” who loved 4WDing and enjoying the outdoors.
He had a playful side, too, and enjoyed playing the “clown” and having a good time.
“He’s going to be missed by his whole family,” Jacinta said.
“We’ve lost our little brother and our little protector.”
