What an exciting week we have to look forward to. Last week was excellent as well. It seems that with the onset of winter instead of going into hibernation we are all enjoying the club at the moment.

Last week saw a visit from The Past Presidents Club as well as a sponsored day by one of our life members. Both very successful and well attended.

This week we are hosting the Champion of Champions District Mixed Pairs. The club is buzzing at the prospect of seeing the best mixed teams in the area. We will also be hosting the Ladies District Singles preliminary rounds on Monday, June 7. So what a feast we will have on our doorstep.

The week was full for us with so much happening and the turnout has been excellent.

Tuesday

The Jackpot Pairs gave way to a full green of the visiting club The Past Presidents as well as being supported by our members.

There was so much happening with some very good bowling from the more experienced bowlers and aptly supported by our own members. There was a lot prizes and draws on offer. The winners were drawn at random but the real winners on the day were all those that attended.

Thursday Mixed Social Bowls

Another full and busy green with our usual triples teams. A very well contested day with a three way tie so the count back was on the most ends won. The winners with the most won ends were Adele Allars, Graeme Lunghusen and Ross Aird, and popular winners they were.

We also had the final of the Men’s B Grade Singles with a hotly contested game. Both Stefan Williams and Bill Ruddle brought their A Grade game to the green.

The game swayed both ways with each sharing the lead throughout, Bill finally getting the better of Stefan with a thrilling last end. Congratulations to Bill and Stefan for a very good game of bowls.

Saturday we had a break from team games however our bowlers took advantage and we had quite a few practising.

Sunday

Sunday was a day to support a member’s sponsored day. George and Rada McGregor who have been members and supported the club for years put on a special day which was supported by our members by the dozen.

We had a full green of triples with lots of good humoured bowling as well as competitive play. We enjoyed lots prizes as well as refreshments and we all took something home with us even if it was only a memory of a good day of bowling. George is a very loyal life member and has always given his support to benefit the club and we hope it will continue for many years to come.

During the week the Ladies District Pairs final was played and our home grown team of Wendy Ryan and Cyndy Glenbar came through the final as victors. Well done to them both and congratulations from all in the club.

All our members enjoyed this last week and we hope that the coming week will be just as good. We are hoping for good support for our own home team as well as seeing the best in our area. Please come and support all who will play. This is just a lead up to a busy June with other members playing in the District finals as well as the State of Origin and a special Italian Dinner Night. Check out our website for all the details.

Good bowling to you all.
