With Easter celebrations just around the corner, families across the region are planning how to spend their long weekend.

From church services to family-friendly events, there is plenty to look forward to.

Shopping centres and supermarkets will close over the Easter period and times will change.

Here, we provide a list of opening times to let you know what is open over the holiday period.

Easter events

• Gympie music muster Flood Relief Festival (free event), Nelson Reserve - Friday, 12pm until 6.30pm.
• Eggtastic Hunt, Gympie Library – Wednesday, April 13 to Thursday April, 14 9am – 5pm (Wednesday) and 9am – 7pm (Thursday).

• Goldfields Plaza – Hours as normal
• Gympie Central Shopping Centre – Friday, Saturday hours as normal; Sunday, 10am – 2pm

Most major Gympie region shopping centres are unaffected by the long weekend - according to their websites.

• Southside Town Centre Woolworths – Closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday open from 9am until 6pm
• Gympie McDonald’s – open 24 hours
• Traveston McDonald’s – open 24 hours
• Gympie KFC – Friday to Sunday, open 10am until 10pm
• Gympie Hungry Jack’s – temporarily closed
