Rescuers free driver from rolled ute through windscreen | Video

Rescuers have pulled a man trapped in his ute to freedom through the windscreen after the vehicle rolled on the Mary Valley Highway near Birt Road.

A man with minor abrasions to his head has been taken to Gympie Hospital after he was pulled to freedom through the windscreen of his rolled ute by rescuers at Long Flat on Thursday afternoon.

Trapped driver freed through windscreen

The ute overturned about 4pm near the Birt Road intersection with the Mary Valley Highway.

Emergency crews are still on the scene of the single vehicle accident just north of the Long Flat Hall.

Queensland Fire and Emergency confirmed there was one car on its side near the intersection but they were unsure yet if anyone was trapped. Ambulance and police are also on the scene.

The car appears to be a four wheel drive and two doors were open. It is believed to be off the main road. The accident occurred just before 4pm.
