Why Gympie’s favourite hair salon continues to be Hair Review

In a fierce competition of loyalty between hair salons, and a record response from the public, the winner of the 2023 Best Gympie Hairdresser Award has been decided, and it is a name familiar to everyone.

Subscribers have cast a record number of votes to reveal the people’s choice award of the Gympie salon that gives joy, beauty and hair satisfaction to its clients.

After the unprecedented turnout we can finally announce the winner: Hair Review in Mary Street, which took out 23 per cent of the votes.

The competition was tough, with 30 nominated hair salons vying for the top prize and hundreds of people voting for their one favourite.

“My heart was bursting with joy this morning after finding out that we had one this incredible accolade,” owner Carolann Verity said.

Client Jenny Ross professed to voting in the poll as she had her hair cut by Rance Boreham.

She said her colours had never looked better and constantly gets asked about her hair whenever she goes shopping at Centro.

A bright mix of purple shades she said her family knows “not to mess with Nana’s hair”.

Lanyi Kennedy is another one of the staff who is in her final year as an apprentice, she’s excited about staying on.

Ms Verity said one thing the salon prides itself on was its ability to train the next generation.

“We are blessed to have an incredibly talented and dedicated group of senior stylists who have been with me from the beginning. They take emerging young stylists under their wings,” she said.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone for choosing Hair Review.”

Hair Review had its humble beginnings in Gympie more than 20 years ago and since then has just kept on growing.

Their hair salon in Mary St has 24 skilled staff that clients cannot stop voting for accolades.
