Business owners, employees, customers, and community members can now nominate outstanding business within the Gympie region.
To mark the occasion sponsors and judges of the 2023 awards met in the mist on Wednesday morning at Nelson Reserve to hear from the last year’s winner, judges, and president of the Gympie Chamber of Commerce Petra Van Beek.
The previous 2022 winners include Jacaranda Dental, Velmec Auto, and Little h Cafe.
“It’s certainly been amazing for our business and it’s something we’re very proud of,” Jacaranda Dental practice manager Lydia Williams said.
Three new awards have been added to the categories to include sole traders, businesses which have gone above and beyond to build a more connected community, and a single award category for food and agriculture businesses.

In total there are 11 award categories and include best new business, not for profit and the coveted people’s choice award.
“Highlighting the accomplishments of our local businesses not only showcases their hard work but also inspires other to strive for excellence,” Ms Van Beek said.
Community leader Michelle Perrett said she was constantly astounded by the continued growth and diversity of businesses in the region and was looking forward to being on the judge’s panel for the sixth year.
The winners of the 2023 awards will be announced at a gala awards ceremony on October 21, 2022.

Organised by the Gympie Chamber of Commerce, the business awards celebrate and recognise the contribution, achievement and excellence businesses contribute to the region.
