IT'S shaping up to be a beautiful day on the water, but don't get too complacent Tin Can Bay Coast Guard warns as a large easterly swell may form.
Deceptively powerful surf conditions have been a threat on the radar for the past three days, the coast guard said, but have yet to eventuate.
But people should be on their guard, the coast guard warns and check in before taking to the water.
Boaties are encouraged to log on with the coast guard via radio on Channel 80 or by phone on 5486 3286.
The coast guard said the sandbank is always shifting and new bar information is available as it comes in.
Those on the water are urged to check in with the coast guard to keep updated on weather, tide and the bar.
With a bit of a lumpy start around low tide this morning, a 1 to 1.5 metre swell should gradually form, the coast guard said.
While the waters have been quiet, the coast guard reminds all boaties to wear life jackets and stay safe.
