The new McDonald’s restaurant opening at Traveston on Monday will create jobs for over 70 Gympie region locals across a mix of full-time, part-time and casual roles.

McDonald’s Traveston will be owned and operated by local licensee, Craig Manley, who employs more than 750 Queensland residents across eight McDonald’s restaurants in Bundaberg, Bundaberg City, Childers, Gympie, Hervey Bay, Urangan, Bargara and Traveston Service Centre.

Traveston is one of the seven new restaurants McDonald’s will open in Queensland this year and marks McDonald’s 233rd restaurant in Queensland.

“We’re excited to open a McDonald’s restaurant in the popular Traveston Service Centre, a convenient hub for locals and people driving through,” Mr Manley said.

“The new restaurant has created jobs for residents of all ages and experience levels through a mix of crew, barista, management and maintenance roles.

“Every McDonald’s restaurant is committed to supporting the community within the area it operates through job creation, economic investment and ongoing training and development opportunities.

“As a Registered Training Organisation , we offer our people nationally recognised external qualifications and traineeships to help them attain the skills they need to develop their career and future success. The new 24-hour restaurant will be fitted with modern décor and feature a McCafé and dual lane drive-thru.

“In response to growing demand for drive-thru, the restaurant will feature a dual lane drive-thru, which will help us continue to provide a contactless experience to customers who choose to have their Macca’s favourites on the go.”
