Cops have charged a Gold Coast woman after they allegedly found a loaded gun in her car parked behind a local pub.

Police were performing patrols around 6.50pm Tuesday when they noticed the vehicle parked in the rear carpark of a tavern at Miami with two women acting suspiciously inside.

Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly located a loaded handgun and ammunition in a handbag, more ammunition in the glove box and a collection of drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine and restricted prescription drugs.

Nearby in the same carpark police located a second vehicle with two men inside. A subsequent search of that vehicle allegedly located a knife and the drug GHB.
