Gold Coast streets locked down after ‘dangerous chemical’ found

Police have declared an exclusion zone in Bilinga after a dangerous chemical was found in a home.

A public emergency declared today at the Gold Coast after a dangerous chemical was found at a home has been revoked.

Police declared Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at Bilinga after the chemical was found.

The exclusion zone was Pacific Parade between Graham and Johnston streets, including Cahill St, and was declared at 3.23pm.

Members of the public were advised to avoid the area.

Police revoked the emergency declaration at 5.10pm.
