WATCH: Strange lights in the skies of Central Queensland

A Queensland woman has been left shocked by what she saw in the sky early in the morning. And she wasn’t the only one. WATCH THE VIDEO.

Tannum Sands woman videos strange lights in the sky

A Central Queensland resident has been left baffled by what she saw in the sky during the early hours of Thursday morning, capturing her experience on video.

The Tannum Sands resident was at her home, which overlooks Tannum Sands Beach, when at 4.42am on April 25, Anzac Day, she noticed strange lights in the sky as she looked “east out to sea”.

“The lights in the sky, individual lights in a row, were visible for at least a minute,” the woman told this publication.

“At first I thought it was a comet, but now I don’t know what I saw.

“I was almost scared it was going to come closer.

“The gap (in the video) is me climbing on the bed to get a view from the other window.

“It went out of sight, moving and fading at the same time.”

Others who saw it posted many theories as to what the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was, from the Starlink Satellites or the Devil Comet to, perhaps jokingly, a rocket carrying an Anzac Day banner.

People at Bouldercombe, Blackwater, Rockhampton and Gracemere Anzac Day services also saw the bright lights in the sky.

But most skywatchers agreed it was be a Starlink satellite train.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starlink is a satellite internet constellation providing coverage to more than 70 countries.

On April 23 in the US and April 24 in Australia, Falcon 9 launched 23 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The rare Devil Comet orbits can only be seen every 71 years, and astronomers expected Anzac Day to be the best day to see it.
