UPDATED: Train and truck collide on rural CQ road

A TRUCK driver was taken to hospital after a garbage truck and train collided this morning.
A police spokesman said the truck rolled after colliding with the train on Gehrke Rd at 10.15am.
Police and paramedics arrived on the scene at 10.25am.
A nearby resident said he heard a loud crash and rushed to the scene.
He said he grabbed a swag from the back of his car and unrolled it for the truck driver to lie on before emergency services arrived.
The train had to be split to allow access to the road and truck.
A QAS spokeswoman said the driver was treated at the scene for shoulder and neck injuries.
She said he was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.
Gladstone Regional Council will assist with the clean up.
Police are investigating.
