Tina Zawila revealed as new Gladstone Area Water Board director on three year term

The Gladstone Area Water Board has signed off on 2021 by announcing a new director who will bring “a wealth of experience” to the organisation.

The Gladstone Area Water Board has signed off on 2021 by announcing a new director who will bring “a wealth of experience” to the organisation.

Tina Zawila, who holds non-executive director roles with the Gladstone Airport Corporation and the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, has been appointed the role for three years.

Ms Zawila has worked in the financial services sector for more than 30 years’ and is an experienced company director.

Board chair Maxine Brushe said Ms Zawila’s extensive corporate and community knowledge would be an invaluable asset to GAWB.

“A chartered accountant by trade, Ms Zawila holds non-executive director roles with the Gladstone Airport Corporation and the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. She will bring a wealth of experience to the position,” Ms Brushe said.

“Ms Zawila is a passionate community advocate, holding various voluntary roles with local not-for-profit organisations including Gladstone Area Group Apprentices Limited, EQIP Business Industry and Tourism Skills Centre Advisory Committee and Yaralla Sports Club.

“We’re delighted to have someone of Ms Zawila’s credentials on our board. I know that she will work hard to ensure GAWB continues to deliver safe and reliable water services to the Gladstone region.”

Ms Zawila welcomed the opportunity to join the Board of Gladstone’s sole bulk water provider.

“GAWB has supplied water to the Gladstone region since 1973 and water security is critical to our region now more than ever,” Ms Zawila said.

Current director, Professor Poh-Ling Tan, has been re-appointed to the Board for a further two years.
