Bundaberg business owner Brian Scott identified as Mount Maria crash victim

A Bundaberg business owner and father of two has been identified as the victim of a tragic crash in the Gladstone region on Monday morning.

The partner of a 45-year-old man who died in a Central Queensland car crash says she is not ready to say goodbye to the love of her life.

Brian Scott tragically lost his life after the black dual cab ute he was driving left Tableland Road and crashed into a tree at Mount Maria around 1am on Monday.

Around 8am Monday, Queensland Police Service were notified by a member of the public to the black dual cab ute in bushland and sadly found Mr Scott deceased.

With more than 20 years experiences in the industry, Mr Scott had a passion for the security sector and together with his partner Trisha Silcox, started Bundaberg based business Scott’s Specialized Security Services in 2016, which provided services to events, venues and workplaces.

While police continue their crash investigations, Mr Scott’s partner Ms Silcox shared an emotional farewell via the couple’s business.

The pair share children Hayley and Jordan together.

“My soulmate, my rock, the love of my life, our protector,” Ms Silcox said.

“I will always be forever grateful for the 25 years we had earthside together and the memories we made.

“Although our journey was bumpy at times, my heart always belonged to you. I know you will continue to walk beside me, watch over our babies and keep us all safe, as you always did.

“Twenty-five years ago you walked me home from the Blue Moose, 25 years ago, I never believed in love at first sight until I saw you.

“We were opposite in so many ways, but somehow we just fit. You are my puzzle piece and I don't know how I’m going to navigate the rest of my life's journey without you by my side.”

Ms Silcox said she knew Mr Scott had touched so many lives by always walking and talking his truth, even though sometimes he was a little bit grumpy.

“I wasn't ready to say goodbye, it wasn’t meant to be your time yet and we still have so much to do, so many plans, but I know our girls and I have so much love and support and I only hope we can make you so proud by continuing your legacy in an industry you were so passionate about and keeping our dreams and visions alive.

“I love you now, always and forever.”
