St Johns principal released heated statement regarding vandals who targeted his school

St Johns Catholic Primary School Gladstone was targeted in a brazen attack last Wednesday night. Now, the school’s principal has spoken out.

The principal of a Gladstone catholic primary school has broken his silence and addressed vandals who targeted his school last week.

Following a public appeal for assistance from police to help identify three potential culprits last week, St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School principal Jamie Emerick said he could confirm his school was graffitied.

“It was sprayed on buildings under construction at St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School last Wednesday evening,” Mr Emerick said.

“The school immediately contacted the police on discovery of the graffiti.”

Mr Emerick said the school had extensive CCTV monitoring of its site and footage was provided to police to assist with their investigations.

“I sincerely thank the police for their assistance and as the matter is currently an ongoing police investigation, it would not be appropriate to make any further comment,” Mr Emerick said.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said Gladstone police had spoken to two youths and they were served with cautions, however, investigations were ongoing.
