Queensland Ballet to deliver community classes, performance in Gladstone

Gladstone residents will soon get to experience the magic of ballet, with the Queensland Ballet heading to the Port City.

Gladstone residents will soon get to experience the magic of ballet, with the Queensland Ballet presenting an unmissable performance.

The prestigious dance company will perform Tutus on Tour at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on July 3o.

With excerpts from some of their most acclaimed repertoire, including founding Artistic Director Charles Lisner’s Grande Pas Classique, Francois Klaus’s Cloudland Pas de Deux and Don Quixote, Tutus on Tour is certain to captivate audiences.

The company will also deliver a series of community dance classes, in-scho0l workshops and teacher professional development from July 28-31.

Community Classes will cater for children as young as six to adults.

Queensland Ballet artistic director Li Cunxin AO said he was excited to see the Community Engagement tour expand to new locations, including Weipa, Thargomindah and Alice Springs, enabled by the focused support of generous donors.

“We are incredibly grateful to our loyal donors, who allow us to connect with communities all across Queensland and beyond,” Mr Cunxin said.

“Dance has the incredible ability to transform lives, whether it’s through the physical movement, the social aspect or the creative expression.”
