A Sunday session at a popular Gladstone venue has left one man with serious injuries after a wild brawl erupted in the carpark.
After 6pm on Sunday, August 8 a disagreement between security and an unruly patron at Gladstone Yacht Club quickly spiralled out of control.
As the male security guard tried to remove the patron, a recycling bin full of glass bottles was knocked over which forced people to scramble.
The ugly incident did not end there with the violence spilling out into the large car park adjacent to the venue.
Smaller fights broke out among the huge crowd which had assembled after being moved on by staff, before police arrived around 10 minutes later.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said investigations into the incident were ongoing and Gladstone police were reviewing CCTV footage.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said no persons required transport following the incident, however, one man posted a graphic photo of a leg injury to social media with the caption ‘yum’.
