A self-employed Central Queensland builder has faced court after he was busted with a crossbow and air rifle at his home.
Tyler James Minnett, 32, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to two counts of unlawfully possessing a weapon and one count of possessing a restricted medicine.
The court heard that on October 21, police executed a search warrant at Minnett’s residence - he wasn’t there at the time but his girlfriend was.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Merrilyn Hoskins said in a storage room under the house, police found a crossbow and an air rifle.
In Minnett’s bedroom, officers found nine Viagra tablets which he did not have a prescription for.
“(Minnett’s) girlfriend was spoken to about these things - she said she knew they belonged to (Minnett),” Sgt Hoskins said.
“But she thought he was allowed to have them.”
The court heard Minnett had a “limited” criminal history with no prior similar offending.
Solicitor Stephen White said Minnett was a self-employed builder who was “very remorseful and embarrassed” to be in court.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Minnett $1000 and no conviction was recorded.
