A woman made threats to get naked in front of police after abusing staff at a Gladstone motel, a court has heard.

Tracey Leanne James, 49, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to committing public nuisance and possessing dangerous drugs.

At 1.09pm on July 30, police attended a Toolooa Street motel in relation to a disturbance.

The informant told the call taker a woman had made loud threats to slit the informant’s daughter’s throat.

On arrival, police saw James screaming outside a unit and tried to speak with her before eventually speaking with hotel management.

They advised police there had been a loud disturbance where James had been using offensive language directed at other guests at the hotel.

The manager said James’ conduct had caused alarm to him, the motel guests and the public.

He advised police he wanted to evict James as a result.

Police spoke with James who was pacing up and down the motel car park yelling: “Where the f... am I going to go?” and “You want me to pull my pants down, and take my top off too?”

Police arrested James for public nuisance and transported her to the Gladstone watch house where they found two foil-wrapped items in her pants.

James told police the items were “sticks” of cannabis, with a weight of 0.25 grams, that she intended to smoke on the beach.

James was placed on 12 months’ probation. Convictions were recorded.
