A Rockhampton woman labelled her interception by Gladstone police as ‘luck of the draw’, a court heard.
Sharryn Ann Williams, 53, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to driving over general but not over middle alcohol limit while not the holder of a licence.
On July 15, around 11.25pm, police were conducting patrols on the Dawson Highway, Kin Kora.
They intercepted a silver Toyota Corolla hatchback and identified Williams as the driver.
Williams told police she was travelling to McDonalds to eat and then stop for milk on the way home.
She further stated she consumed a number of glasses of wine between 6 and 8pm.
Williams submitted to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result of 0.070.
She told police she knew of her zero-alcohol limit and it was the luck of the draw she was intercepted.
Williams was issued a Notice to Appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Williams $800 and suspended her from driving for three months. A conviction was recorded.
