A Central Queensland teenager facing serious charges including six counts of rape has been committed to stand trial.
The boy, 16, appeared in Gladstone Childrens Court on Friday.
As well as the six rape charges, he is accused of one count of unlawful stalking and two counts of trespass - all allegedly domestic violence offences.
In court on Friday, solicitor Rio Ramos said the boy had family members present to support him.
Ms Ramos asked for the matters to be handed up to the District Court for a trial before a jury.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Merrilyn Hoskins said there were five prosecution witnesses and she read their names into the record.
The court heard the nine alleged offences allegedly happened in the Gladstone region in November and December last year.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan asked the boy if he wished to say anything in answer to the charges, or enter any plea, and the boy said: “No, Your Honour.”
Ms Buchanan committed the boy to trial in the Childrens Court at a date to be notified and granted him bail on the same conditions as he previously had.
In relation to the boy’s bail, Ms Ramos asked if the condition that he must not go to Gladstone except for court, could be removed because he had family in Gladstone.
Sgt Hoskins said Ms Ramos would have to make an application for a change to bail conditions and Magistrate Buchanan confirmed that was the case.
