Keith William Neeves was branded a “complete idiot” by a Magistrate after a court heard he tried to bite and spit at a policeman during his arrest.
Neeves, 21, pleaded guilty in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Friday to seven charges including three counts of serious assault of a police officer.
On August 18, around 10.30am, police intercepted a car, which Neeves was a passenger in, for a random breath test.
After the driver returned a positive roadside drug test, Neeves requested a lift home from police.
When police said they did not have room for Neeves in their car, Neeves called the officer a ‘British c---’.
Police warned Neeves, however, he continued to swear at police and an officer attempted to arrest him.
Neeves pushed away the officer away and yelled in his face, before being restrained and calling the officer a ‘f---ing dog’.
When police helped Neeves to his feet, he turned his head towards them and puckered his lips in a spitting motion.
The officer deflected Neeves’ head away and began to walk him to the car, but not before Neeves called his a ‘pommy p----’ and a ‘f---ing dog’.
Neeves continued to threaten police after being placed on the ground, stating to one of the officers ‘if you let me near this pom I’ll skull---- him’.
After police gave him another warning, Neeves said ‘I can’t wait to line every one of you up as you look at me and beg for your miserable lives’.
Neeves then moved his head towards an officer with his mouth open and made a growling sound.
The officer had to physically move Neeves’ head away from his leg to stop him from biting it.
Eventually, Neeves was transported to Gladstone watch house and released on a bail undertaking.
Acting Magistrate Ron Muirhead said Neeves showed bizarre behaviour and behaved like a complete idiot.
“If you had kept out if it you wouldn’t be in the courtroom today,” Mr Muirhead said.
“You weren’t even the driver of the car which was intercepted, but you had to get your big mouth into it.”
Neeves was convicted and sentenced to eight months imprisonment which was wholly suspended suspended two years. He was also sentenced to two years probation with convictions recorded.
