A Mareeba man was keeping his dangerous drugs and paraphernalia in a shed on a rural property in the Gladstone region, a court heard.
Joshua Adam Kahn, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing utensils or pipes that had been used and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
On June 30, around 10.15am, Gladstone police executed a search warrant on a Darts Creek Road address, Darts Creek in relation to dangerous drug possession.
Police announced themselves at the residence and contacted Kahn who had returned from a field nearby to speak with police.
Kahn was afforded his rights and cautions and declared a number of items in a small dwelling which was identified as his living quarters.
Police conducted a search of the dwelling and located:
– A clip seal bag containing 0.8g of cannabis
– A clip seal bag containing 0.13 grams of methamphetamine
– Two water pipes with burnt cannabis residue
– Two glass pipes with scorch marks on the base of the pipe
– A white grinder with cannabis residue around the blades
Kahn was questioned about the items and stated the property was his and he used the glass pipes to smoke methamphetamine and the water pipes to smoke cannabis.
He was issued a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and sentenced Kahn to a six-month Good Behaviour Order, fined him $400 and entered him into drug diversion.
