A mother of seven has faced court after police busted her with drugs in her handbag.
Jessica Kate Rawlings, 38, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 6 to possessing cannabis and contravening a police requirement.
Police prosecutor Jennifer Leach said that on December 21 last year, police intercepted Rawlings driving on Philip Street, Kin Kora.
Ms Leach said during a search of Rawlings’ handbag, police found a clip-seal bag containing 4.08g of cannabis.
Ms Leach said Rawlings immediately stated: “Just found my weed.”
The court heard the second charge related to Rawlings not providing police with identification in a seven-day timeframe.
It was told Rawlings had a previous drug possession offence on her history.
Solicitor Jun Pepito said Rawlings was a mother of seven and the cannabis was for her personal use.
Acting Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Rawlings $500 and convictions were recorded.
