Gladstone recent drink drivers wrap: Full list of minor offenders August 23-25

Here’s the details of those who pleaded guilty in the Gladstone Magistrates Court in the past week.

A number of drink and drug drivers were dealt with in Gladstone Magistrates Court over the past week.

Rabakewa pleaded guilty in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to drink driving.

He was intercepted driving a Toyota HiLux on Yarroon Street, Gladstone Central at 1am on July 25.

Rabakewa, a mining shutdown worker, returned a positive breath test and told police he consumed four heavy beer schooners in seven hours.

His second breath test at the Gladstone Police station returned a blood-alcohol reading of .139.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Rabakewa $800 and disqualified him from driving for four months.

Neill pleaded guilty in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to drink driving.

On August 13, around 9.10pm, Neill was intercepted by police driving a Ford Falcon on Scott’s Road, Bororen.

Neill told police he had recently left the Bororen pub where he drank seven rums and was about 100 metres from home.

He submitted to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result and he was taken to Miriam Vale police station for further testing.

During questioning Neill, a P-plater, told police he had his first drink at home around 2.30pm and then drove to the pub to drink more before leaving around 8.50pm.

Neill’s second breath test returned a positive reading of 0.113.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Neill $900 and suspended him from driving for seven months.
