A repeat Central Queensland domestic violence offender who offended again while on a suspended sentence, has faced court while in custody.
The man, who by law cannot be named, appeared in custody in Gladstone Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to contravening a domestic violence order.
The court heard there was a no contact order in place when police were called to a report of a “loud disturbance” at a Gladstone residence.
After arriving, officers found the man and the aggrieved in the residence - the former hiding under a bed.
The man had a two-page criminal history which included previous domestic violence offending for which he had received a suspended jail sentence.
Solicitor Stephen White said the man was a hard working employee and his employer was keen to have him back.
On September 4, Magistrate Mary Buchanan took into account the man had spent 53 days in pre-sentence custody.
She activated the suspended sentence in full and fixed immediate parole release.
A conviction was recorded.
