A young Gladstone man found himself on the wrong side of the law after a drunken motorbike ride ended in disaster.
Connor Michael Bradford Moore, 20, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday to four charges including driving Under the Influence of Liquor.
A court heard that on July 29, around 10.25pm, Moore was riding an unregistered Suzuki off-road dirt bike on Philip Street, Gladstone.
He was involved in a crash with another car at the intersection of Philip Street and Oxley Drive.
Police checks on Moore’s licence revealed he did not hold a motorbike licence which allowed him to ride on a road and that the bike was uninsured.
Due to injuries Moore sustained during the crash, he was transported to the Gladstone Hospital for treatment and observations.
A sample of Moore’s blood was taken and on August 24 lab results found his blood-alcohol reading after the crash was .174.
He was issued a notice to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court.
Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Moore $1200 and suspended him from driving for 10 months due to the severity of his offending. Convictions were recorded.
