Child sex offender has matter mentioned in Gladstone court

A Central Queensland registered child sex offender is facing a fresh charge of possessing child exploitation material.

A man charged with possessing child exploitation material has had his matter mentioned in Gladstone Magistrates Court.

A Central Queensland registered child sex offender has allegedly been caught with child exploitation material.

The man, who is in his 20s, had his matter mentioned in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 where he was not required to appear.

He is charged with one count of possessing child exploitation material.

Solicitor Bianca Wieland said the man was on bail and her office had obtained a brief of evidence in relation to the matter.

Ms Wieland sought a four-week adjournment to review that brief.

Acting Magistrate Mary Buchanan adjourned the matter to a later date in April and the man’s bail was enlarged.
