Gladstone police have issued a timely reminder on holiday road safety after a man was caught driving more than 70km/hr over the speed limit.
A Gladstone man, 20, was travelling 151km/hr in an 80km/hr zone when police intercepted him on Hanson Road this week.
The man was fined $1,245, lost eight demerit points and automatically lost his licence for six months.
“As we head into the school holidays it’s a timely reminder that we all need to show respect on our roads and be mindful of other motorists and the road conditions,” Gladstone police said.
“In the last week we have had a number of motorists fined for excessive and dangerous speeds on our local roads.
“As we go into the school holidays please slow down, drive to the conditions and help us ensure everyone gets home safe to their family and friends.”
