Jeremy Edward Gumbleton, Jason Luke Howett charged for string of Gladstone break-ins

Two Gladstone men charged over multiple break and enters in Gladstone earlier this month. Here’s what happened in court.

Jason Luke Howett (41) and Jeremy Edward Gumbleton (29) have faced Gladstone Magistrates Court after being charged for a series of break and enters in Gladstone.

On July 23 at approximately 7pm, it is alleged Gumbleton, 29, broke through security fencing at Anderson’s Auto City on Yarroon Street and stole alloy mag wheels from a pallet.

Then, between 8:30 that evening and 1:30 the following morning, it is alleged Gumbleton broke into Bob Jane T-Marts on the Dawson Highway, cutting through a security fence to steal multiple car rims.

On August 11, it is alleged that Howett attended a business on Soppa Street, cutting through a security fence to gain entry to an office and forcing open a shed roller door.

On August 17, Howett and Gumbleton allegedly attended a business on Hanson Road together, breaking through the main office door to steal a mobile phone.

Howett was charged with two counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, and Gumbleton charged with three counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.

In Gladstone Magistrates Court on August 21, both men appeared in custody, and indicated that they would be pleading not guilty to all charges.

Neither was granted bail.
